Principal's Message
My journey in education has been driven by the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and I am dedicated to ensuring that our school provides the best possible educational experience for each student. With seventeen years of experience in education, I have had the pleasure of serving in various roles - from classroom teacher, to math coach, and assistant principal.
After graduating with an elementary education degree from Winthrop University, I landed my first job as a fifth grade teacher at Northside Elementary School of the Arts in Rock Hill, SC. After seven years in the classroom, I transitioned to the role of math coach after completing a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a Concentration in Mathematics. In 2011, I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Masters in Educational Leadership. For the last nine years I have served in the capacity of assistant principal at Northside Elementary, Belleview Elementary (both in Rock Hill), and River Trail Elementary. I have thirteen years of experience working in Title 1 schools. I come with experience working alongside multiple special settings programs at various levels 4k-5th grade.
Currently, I am working on my Doctorate from the University of South Carolina. Each role has reinforced my belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of a supportive, inclusive school environment. I am committed to fostering a culture where every student feels valued, respected, and loved so that they can reach their full potential.
My husband and I have one fur baby, our black lab, Ridge. We think he is the smartest and most handsome. We love taking him for golf cart rides around the neighborhood at night, counting the wildlife we encounter, and the occasional swim in the river. When not at work, we love being outside and find joy when we are near water.
Spending time with our family is important for both of us. Most of my family resides in Saluda, South Carolina. My husband’s family is in or near Upstate New York. Combined, we have six nieces ranging from their 20s to 4 years old. We love any chance we get to visit with them.
I am excited about joining the Riverview Family and look forward to the successes ahead of us.
Sincerely,
Mabra Wayman
