On August 8, Riverview teachers and staff members were encouraged and motivated by Dr. Stephen Peters on their first workday for the 2016-17 school year.

He is the founder of the nationally recognized Gentlemen's & Ladies Club programs, which provide options for thousands of at-risk and honor students throughout the United States. His mentoring and self-empowering program has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show as well as America, America.

Dr. Peters is the CEO & President of The Peters Group, a national education consulting company. He has written many books including best-selling book, "Do You Know Enough About Me to Teach Me", and serves as a board member for the International Literacy Association. In July, Dr. Peters became Superintendent of Laurens 55 School District in Laurens, SC.

"Dr. Stephen Peters captured, inspired, and taught our staff about the standard of excellence and more. His book, "Do you Know Enough About Me to Teach Me" is a phenomenal read for all educators! This was a great way to start a school year!" said Kay DeWalt, Riverview Title 1 Facilitator.
